These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/social-work\/about-us\/core-competencies\/\">core competencies<\/a> are measurable practice behaviors comprised of knowledge, values and skills. These competencies serve as a link between what may be observed or demonstrated in student knowledge, value and skill performance and the Department&rsquo;s curriculum expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment Findings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mnscu-my.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/g\/personal\/ks3324ee_minnstate_edu\/Ea3s73FrQKxHvyfkKsX2M6sBkDnZnUqGywk8uhMcxuX9tg?e=KCJlTC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Form-AS-4B 2022-2023<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Social Work has an Assessment Plan that measures student progress in these nine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/social-work\/about-us\/core-competencies\/\">Competencies and Practice Behaviors<\/a>. This includes evaluation tools that measure knowledge and\/or skills upon acceptance into the social work major, while taking social work classes and then at the completion of the degree program, the 400 hour internship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department measures student progress in the nine competencies and practice behaviors utilizing a Likert scale evaluation tool the following eight courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Family Dynamics and Interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Welfare Policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group counseling co-facilitation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Macro practice capstone project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research capstone project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internship, 480-hour volunteer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has developed accreditation standards that require baccalaureate social work curriculum to prepare graduates for generalist practice through mastery of a set of nine core competencies.
