BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Talley Gallery at 91探花 will present the works of aerial photographer and environmentalist Mark Abrahamson in a show entitled “Global Warming: An American Perspective,” beginning Monday, Jan. 28.

The show is a collection of Cibachrome photographs taken from an aerial perspective of the American landscape. Cibachrome prints are created from color transparencies – typically slides – by a system completely different from traditional color prints to maximze sharpness, color intensity, clean whites and critical accuracy to the original slide.

Abrahamson’s photographs are beautiful in color and composition, but the subject matter points out the devastating effects taht humans are having on Earth’s environment. The exhibition and artist talk will help create a connection with and begin a discussion on the problem of climate change. Through the exhibit and ensuing discussions, Abrahamson hopes we all will feel more connected to the problem and want to do something about it.

Abrahamson’s show will run through Feb. 21, 2008.

Located in the Education Arts building on the campus of 91探花, the Talley Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is barrier-free and is open at no charge to the public.
