{"id":14591,"date":"2008-01-14T10:49:15","date_gmt":"2008-01-14T16:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/2008\/01\/14\/talley-gallery-presents-photography-of-mark-abrahamson\/"},"modified":"2021-11-01T16:00:32","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T21:00:32","slug":"talley-gallery-presents-photography-of-mark-abrahamson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2008\/01\/14\/talley-gallery-presents-photography-of-mark-abrahamson\/","title":{"rendered":"Talley Gallery presents photography of Mark Abrahamson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> &ndash; The Talley Gallery at 91探花 will present the works of aerial photographer and environmentalist Mark <strong>Abrahamson<\/strong> in a show entitled &ldquo;Global Warming: An American Perspective,&rdquo; beginning Monday, Jan. 28.<\/p>\n<p>The show is a collection of Cibachrome photographs taken from an aerial perspective of the American landscape. Cibachrome prints are created from color transparencies &ndash; typically slides &ndash; by a system completely different from traditional color prints to maximze sharpness, color intensity, clean whites and critical accuracy to the original slide.<\/p>\n<p>Abrahamson&rsquo;s photographs are beautiful in color and composition, but the subject matter points out the devastating effects taht humans are having on Earth&rsquo;s environment. The exhibition and artist talk will help create a connection with and begin a discussion on the problem of climate change. Call (218) 755-3708 for gallery hours or for more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Cibachrome Photographic Prints<\/strong><br>\nIlfochrome, (formerly known as Cibachrome) is a dye destruction positive-to-positive photographic process used for the reproduction of slides on photographic paper. The prints are made on a dimensionally stable tri-acetate polyester base, essentially a plastic base opposed to traditional paper base. Since it uses azo dyes on a polyester base, the print will not fade, discolor, or deteriorate for a long time.
