George McConnell, director of graduate studies, was appointed to the Capitol Art Exhibit Advisory Committee by Thomas Bakk, Minnesota state senate minority leader, in September 2018. He began his four-year term in January 2019.

The Capitol Art Exhibit Advisory Committee advises and makes recommendations to the State Capitol Preservation Commission regarding which art exhibits should be displayed in State Capitol spaces. Primarily focusing on exhibits that will convey Minnesota’s history, government and diversity, the committee seeks to engage constituents to reflect on and appreciate the state’s rich culture.
