{"id":196,"date":"2022-01-21T13:04:32","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T19:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/environmental-health-safety\/?page_id=196"},"modified":"2023-01-09T15:35:50","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T21:35:50","slug":"roles-responsibilities-employee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/environmental-health-safety\/workers-compensation\/roles-responsibilities-employee\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee Responsibilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/environmental-health-safety\/workers-compensation\/roles-responsibilities-employee\/\">Employees<\/a>&nbsp;have roles and responsibilities in the management of work injuries and illnesses and for participation in the workers&rsquo; compensation program.<\/p>\n<h2>During Emergencies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Call 911 immediately for life threatening or serious injuries.<\/li>\n<li>Report any serious injuries, verbally if necessary, to the Human Resources Office, as soon as possible but,&nbsp;<b>do not delay seeking emergency medical attention in order to report an injury or complete forms.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>For All Other Work Injuries or Illnesses<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Report the injury or illness to your supervisor as soon as possible. If your supervisor is not available, contact the Human Resources Office at (218) 755-3966.<\/li>\n<li>Assist your supervisor in the prompt and accurate completion of reporting forms required for the Workers&rsquo; Compensation Program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>For Non-Emergent Conditions That Require Medical Attention<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Download or get a copy of the Workers&rsquo; Compensation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/environmental-health-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2022\/01\/employee_information_packet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employee Information Packet<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Get an evaluation of the injury or illness from a medical provider in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/environmental-health-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/89\/2022\/01\/corvel_locating_providers1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CorVel provider network<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Inform your supervisor of any condition or treatments or special requirements that will impact you work, such as days away from work and restrictions or limits on physical activity.<\/li>\n<li>Provide your supervisor with &ldquo;doctors slips,&rdquo; workability reports or other written medical orders that document conditions or treatments that affect your work schedule or duties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/human-resources\/hr-team\/\">Contact Human Resources<\/a> if you have any questions about a work injury or illness or the workers&rsquo; compensation program<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Employees&nbsp;have roles and responsibilities in the management of work injuries and illnesses and for participation in the workers&rsquo; compensation program.
