Students, staff, faculty and administration are all invited to the table to discuss important topics and find answers to big questions, such as: What defines student success, and how do we achieve it together? How can we continue to innovate and implement creative solutions to fit the needs of the changing demographics of our population? In what ways can we continue to build on our commitment to environmental sustainability? Committees and boards are categorized into three different departments, based on reporting structure:<\/p>\n
Committees and boards are an essential part of the university. When it comes time for the leadership of the university to make decisions, the dedicated individuals serving on the committees and boards provide substantial assistance.<\/p>\n
The chairs of the following committees report to the President, and as such, these committees fall under the direction of the President.<\/p>\n
The purpose of this committee is to coordinate the campus efforts regarding federal, state and local mandates\/compliance regarding sexual violence.<\/p>\n
The Career Services Advisory Board will serve as an internal advisory group to the director of Career Services regarding the activities of the 91̽»¨ Career Services office. Advice, recommendations and support will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
The Conditional Admission Committee is established to evaluate prospective student applications that do not meet BSU regular admission standards.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is to draft and implement a diversity plan for 91̽»¨. These efforts are guided by national initiatives, such as the American Association for Colleges & Universities Making Excellence Inclusive Initiative, the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities 2015-2016 Diversity Work Plan, current research and Bemidji State’s own desire to attract, retain and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and to attract and retain a workforce that is as diverse as the society within which we live.<\/p>\n
The SEMP Committee’s purpose is the ideation, discussion, review, development, monitoring and evaluation of all ideas, strategies and actions relating to the marketing, recruitment, retention and graduation of students. The committee’s role is primarily forward-thinking and advisory (much of the actual tactical work will be done in the individual working units).<\/p>\n
The Student Programs and Admissions Committee is charged with reviewing and acting upon petitions from students for exceptions to University Academic policy and regulations.<\/p>\n
The Title IX Committee strives toward compliance with the federal regulation, which is to provide equal athletic opportunities for all students in intercollegiate athletics. The specific responsibilities of the Title IX Committee include:<\/p>\n
The following committees fall under the direction of Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Allen Bedford.<\/p>\n
The Academic Assessment Committee plans facilitates and evaluates Academic Affairs assessment efforts and HLC accreditation activities.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the Center for Extended Learning Advisory Committee is to:<\/p>\n
The Dean’s Council integrates efforts by all administrators within academic and student affairs to address common items of interest in providing leadership and management of all colleges and units at BSU.<\/p>\n
The fundamental purpose continues as articulated by the late Dr. Les Duly. The need to address these concerns on a long-term, sustained basis is reflected in the conversion of the task force into a more permanent standing committee. The Environmental Advisory Committee will assist the university in meeting its goals as stated in the Environmental Policy Statement drafted on June 12, 1997.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the Graduate Studies Committee is to:<\/p>\n
The purpose of SAFAC is to contribute to the intellectual, social, cultural and economic development of society and provide opportunities for creative expression and personal development of all its students. All recognized BSU student organizations have the opportunity to apply for Student Activity Fee money. If the student organization is open to all students and is planning an event, program or service which is also open to all students, organizations are encouraged to apply for funding from SAFAC.<\/p>\n
The following committees fall under the direction of the Vice President for Finance & Administration Krisi Fenner.<\/p>\n
The Bookstore Advisory committee provides recommendations to the president regarding Bookstore policies and allocation of revenues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
