Seeking Applicants for 2023 Student Commencement Speakers

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from 91探花! The 2023 Commencement Student Speaker Selection Committee is currently seeking applications from graduating students to be the student speaker at this year’s 91探花 Commencement on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Sanford Center.

To be eligible, the student speaker must be a member of this year’s graduating class (Fall 2022 or Spring 2023). Students who are interested in being considered to speak at Commencement must complete the online application below by Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The selection committee will identify a group of finalists from all applications and nominations, and final selections will be made by President Hoffman’s Cabinet. Three speakers will be selected, one representing each of BSU’s three academic colleges.

Applicants will be notified by Monday, April 10, 2023.

  • 2023 Commencement Speaker Application

    The commencement student speaker selection committee is seeking nominations for students to speak at the upcoming Spring Commencement. The speaker must be a member of 91探花's graduating class of 2023. The time allotted for the student commencement speech is 3 minutes. The selection committee will review the applications and make recommendations of the top candidates. Final selection will be made by the President's Cabinet. Final speeches must be reviewed by the Division of Student Life & Success and the Office of Communications & Marketing prior to Commencement.
    If you are applying to speak, please complete the application below completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you are nominating someone else, complete the information below to the best of your abilities.
