Teacher candidates who are enrolled in the Field-Based Elementary program are working as paraprofessionals in elementary schools AND their work\/role is recognized as an &ldquo;apprentice&rdquo; by the Department of Labor and Industry through the coordination of Teacher Apprenticeship Minnesota. Please <a href=\"https:\/\/educationminnesota.org\/apprenticeship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">contact Teacher Apprenticeship Minnesota<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a> (Education Minnesota Program) for more information about earning an &ldquo;apprentice&rdquo; designation.<\/p>\n<p>Over three years (summer, fall, spring semesters), participants earn a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in elementary education, gaining extensive hands-on experience in real classroom settings focusing on culturally responsive pedagogy.<\/p>\n<h2>Program Structure<\/h2>\n<p>Teacher candidates work as paraprofessionals, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application.
