It can be added to any full license and results in licensure to teach Middle School Mathematics (Grades 5-8).<\/p>\n<p>The credits can be taken in addition to a student&rsquo;s plan of study, spread throughout semesters as their schedule permits pending prerequisites.<\/p>\n<h2>Mathematics Endorsement<\/h2>\n<h3>Take All of the Following<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>ED 3\/5417 Teaching and learning in the Middle School (3 credits)<br>\n<em>Offered only in the fall (online)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>ED 4\/5737 Content Area Reading (3 credits)<br>\n<em>25 hours of field experience outside of class<\/em><br>\n<em>Offered in the fall and spring (online)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>MATH 3\/5064 Number Concepts (4 credits)<br>\n<em>Offered summer 2025 (no longer required beginning fall 2025)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>MATH 3\/5065 Mathematical Foundations of Algebra (4 credits)<br>\n<em>Offered summer 2025 &amp; fall 2025 &amp; spring 2027<\/em><\/li>\n<li>MATH 3\/5066 Geometry and Technology (4 credits)<br>\n<em>Offered spring 2026<\/em><\/li>\n<li>MATH 3\/5067 Data, Probability, and Statistics (4 credits)<br>\n<em>Offered fall 2026<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* The MATH courses are also offered on campus in the summer (alternating two courses each summer) but are dependent upon enrollment numbers.<\/p>\n<h3>Student Teaching<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>ED 4\/5840 Student Teaching &ndash; Special Fields (5 credits)*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*When combined with Elementary Education (or another full licensure program) you will complete a total of 12 Student Teaching credits.<\/p>\n<p>*If you are already licensed and are adding a Middle School Endorsement, you will complete an 80-hour practicum in place of the student teaching requirement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mathematics Endorsement is an optional add-on for Education students.
