{"id":512,"date":"2022-09-21T11:30:46","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T16:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/teacher-education\/?page_id=512"},"modified":"2025-11-12T08:07:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T14:07:10","slug":"application-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/teacher-education\/licensing\/application-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>How to Apply for Your License<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate students:\n<ul>\n<li>Once your degree has been awarded you can request documentation from BSU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>PostBac and Graduate students:\n<ul>\n<li>Once your final grades have been posted you can request documentation from BSU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/teacher-education\/licensing\/request-licensure-documentation\/\">Request Licensure Documentation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Requests are processed in the order they are received.<\/li>\n<li>A Certification Officer will verify your coursework completion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A Certification Officer will email you the appropriate documentation, which may include:\n<ul>\n<li>A signed Verification Form<\/li>\n<li>Copies of all relevant transcripts<\/li>\n<li>An approved plan of study (if required from your program &ndash; FasTrack, SPED, DAPE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You must print off the above items and a copy of the email from the Certification Officer. Add these pieces to your application packet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 4<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the appropriate tiered application from the <a href=\"https:\/\/mn.gov\/pelsb\/current-educators\/additional-license\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">PELSB website<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>.\n<ul>\n<li>Initial licensure applicants may complete <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;font-size: 1rem\" href=\"https:\/\/public.education.mn.gov\/CELApplication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\"><strong>PELSB&rsquo;s <\/strong><strong>Online Application<\/strong><i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you have questions about completing the PELSB application, please see BSU&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/teacher-education\/licensing\/\">Licensure Walkthrough Presentation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 5<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Send the completed tiered application and all materials you received in Step 3 to PELSB in one application packet.
