General Rules and Policies<\/h2>\n

To participate in intramural sports at 91̽»¨, players must agree to follow the rules and policies below.<\/p>\n

Participant Eligibility<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. All participants are required to present a valid BSU\/NWTC Student ID or valid Gillett Wellness Center membership ID at ALL GAMES. Individuals will not be allowed to play unless they have presented proper ID. In order for BSU students to be eligible student fees must be paid. Current online BSU or NTC students not charged student fees can purchase a Wellness Center membership to become eligible to play.<\/li>\n
  2. No more than two non-students may be on the roster of any given team. Non-students must purchase a membership to the Gillett Wellness Center for the duration of league or tournament play.<\/li>\n
  3. Players who cannot provide the necessary identification will not be permitted to participate. There are no exceptions to this rule.<\/li>\n
  4. Any individual may not play on more than one team per league available.<\/li>\n
  5. BSU student-athletes are not eligible to participate in their respective intramural sport during the academic year in which they are listed on the collegiate roster.<\/li>\n
  6. A team shall forfeit any game in which it uses an ineligible player or a player participating under an assumed name.<\/li>\n
  7. Individuals violating eligibility rules may be suspended from intramural participation and must also meet with the Intramural Coordinator.<\/li>\n
  8. Team registration fees may apply. Registration fees will vary depending on the sport and the facility in which games will be played. Profits are used for the maintenance and purchase of new equipment, covering facility usage fees and staff wages.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Team Logistics<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. League schedules will be posted on IMLeagues.com<\/i><\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Sport rules are available upon request.<\/li>\n
    3. Sportsmanship grades (A-D and F, on a 4.0 scale) are recorded by officials after each game. Regardless of team record, teams must maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 to be eligible for playoffs.<\/li>\n
    4. League standings are available to be viewed on IMLeagues.com<\/li>\n
    5. Playoff schedules will be made and posted on IMLeagues.com following the last regular season game.<\/li>\n
    6. Teams can add players through IMLeagues.com through the regular season. Team roster size limits are specified per sport in the individual sport rules.<\/li>\n
    7. Players must participate in at least one league game during the regular season in order to be eligible to play in post-season playoff games.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Participant and Spectator Misconduct<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. Intramural staff and officials may remove a player and\/or spectator from the game for any unsportsmanlike conduct, unnecessary roughness or disruptive behavior.<\/li>\n
      2. Individuals ejected from a game for any reason will be suspended from all intramural activities until after an interview with the Intramural Coordinator has taken place and the official penalty is served. Any player ejected from a game must serve an automatic suspension from their next intramural game. Any games missed prior to interview with the Intramural Coordinator may not count as serving a suspension.<\/li>\n
      3. Individuals ejected from intramural play must leave the intramural complex\/gymnasium immediately. Play will not resume until the individual has left the complex. In the event the participant refuses to leave the complex his\/her team will forfeit that game.<\/li>\n
      4. If a player has been ejected from the game, that player’s team will receive no higher than a D (1.0) for that game’s sportsmanship grade.<\/li>\n
      5. Players or spectators who make physical contact or threatening behavior towards an official or staff member will be ejected from the game and must meet with the Intramural Coordinator. Any such individual is subject to possible suspension from all future intramural activity.  All spectators are to stay off the field\/courts at all times.<\/li>\n
      6. Alcohol, tobacco and other drugs are prohibited at all intramural activities. If you are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol while attending intramural activities, you will be asked to leave.<\/li>\n
      7. Intramural participants and spectators are expected to follow all rules and policies posted by the facilities in which activities are being held.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Forfeits<\/h3>\n
          \n
        1. A minimum number of players, as specified by individual sport rules, must be met by game time to avoid a forfeit. After 10 minutes the game will be declared a forfeit.<\/li>\n
        2. If a team forfeits a game, they will be allowed one re-entry back into the league. However, the team must pay a $15 forfeit fee to be re-eligible for playoffs. This fee needs to be paid by noon on the day of their next game.<\/li>\n
        3. Postponements and cancellations due to inclement weather are possible. Captains will be notified as soon as decisions are made regarding schedule changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Dress Code<\/h3>\n
            \n
          1. Pinnies will be provided by the intramural department. Teams may also use their own team jerseys.<\/li>\n
          2. Metal cleats are prohibited under all circumstances.<\/li>\n
          3. All necklaces, rings, watches and bracelets must be removed during play.<\/li>\n
          4. Sport-specific dress codes are addressed within individual sport rules as well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Injury Protocol<\/h3>\n
              \n
            1. Individuals participate in intramural sports at their own risk and are responsible for their own health and safety. A consent form is signed through registering on IMLeagues.com<\/li>\n
            2. Minor first aid is available on site with intramural officials and staff. Ice is located at the front desk of the Rec. Center.<\/li>\n
            3. In case of emergency, call 911 immediately, and notify the Intramural Coordinator.<\/li>\n
            4. An AED is located to the right of the Dance Studio doors in the Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center lobby.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Conduct and Treatment of Officials<\/h3>\n
                \n
              1. Intramural officials are instructed to ensure impartiality and fairness, omit bias and be 100% involved in the game.<\/li>\n
              2. Intramural officials are student workers, not professionals and are subject to errors in judgment. Calls made by officials may not be protested by participants, but in the event a participant wishes to protest rule interpretations, they should meet with the IM Coordinator.<\/li>\n
              3. Captains must address concerns and problems directly to officials and staff on behalf of team members.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Captain’s Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
                  \n
                1. Complete necessary registration for their team via IMLeagues.com<\/li>\n
                2. Ensure all players listed on the team roster are eligible to play.<\/li>\n
                3. Assure individuals on their team know and agree to abide by all rules and policies.<\/li>\n
