Learn how to apply below.<\/p>\n<h2>First-Year Residential Living Requirement<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">All first-year students who are one year or less removed from high school graduation, as well as unmarried, undergraduate international students, are required to live on campus during their first academic year (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/president\/policies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/79\/2022\/07\/Residential-Living-Requirement-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Residential Living Requirement Policy)<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Application Timeline<\/h2>\n<p>Review the application deadlines and dates when the applications become available.<\/p>\n<h3>Summer 2026<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>March 1, 2026: Housing Application available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Fall 2026<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>October 1, 2025: New Student Housing Application available<\/li>\n<li>December 1, 2025: Returning Student Housing Application available<\/li>\n<li>August 1, 2026: Guaranteed housing deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Spring 2027<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>October 1, 2026: Spring Only Housing Application available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Fall 2027<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>October 1, 2026: New Student Housing Application available<\/li>\n<li>December 1, 2026: Returning Student Housing Application available<\/li>\n<li>August 1, 2027: Guaranteed housing deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Apply<\/h2>\n<p>Application instructions for new and returning students are below.<\/p>\n<h3>Residence Halls<\/h3>\n<h4 id=\"new-student-housing-application\">New Student Housing Application<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/esession\/authentication.do?campusId=070&amp;postAuthUrl=http%3A%2F%2Feservices.minnstate.edu%2Fstudent-portal%2Fsecure%2Fdashboard.do%3Fcampusid%3D070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">e-Services<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Use your <strong>StarID and StarID password<\/strong> to log in.\n<ul>\n<li>Only students accepted to BSU by the Admissions Office can apply for housing.<\/li>\n<li>NTC\/PSEO Students, before applying for housing, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/services\/reslife\/new-students\/ntc-pseo-student-housing\/\">NTC\/PSEO housing page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you need assistance with your StarID or StarID password, click on &ldquo;Forgot Password?&rdquo; to the right of the login boxes.\n<ul>\n<li>You may also visit <a href=\"https:\/\/starid.minnstate.edu\/help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">the StarID help site<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a> if you have trouble logging in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Click on Housing and Dining.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You may need to re-enter your StarID credentials.<\/li>\n<li>You will be taken to your Housing Portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select the appropriate Housing Application from the top menu.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete the Housing Application. Applications are considered complete when you:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sign the Terms of Agreement. <\/strong>If you are under 18 at the time of application, you&rsquo;ll need to print the Terms of Agreement and have you and a parent\/guardian sign it. Please submit the signed Agreement to our office.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/services\/reslife\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/09\/Terms-of-Agreement-2026-27.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2026-27 Terms of Agreement<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make the $150 Prepayment. <\/strong>The $150 prepayment is applied directly toward your first semester costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watch your BSU email for further information from the Housing &amp; Residential Life office.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>February 1:<\/strong> The Roommate Search page will be available in the housing application.<\/li>\n<li><strong>June 1:<\/strong> Finalize your pair and make sure your application is complete.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Early June:<\/strong> Room selection timeslots will be sent to your BSU email based on your application completion date.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mid-June:<\/strong> When your timeslot opens, select a room, bed loft preference and meal plan in the housing application.\n<ul>\n<li>Rooms are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. When your timeslot window opens, don&rsquo;t delay selecting your room.<\/li>\n<li>The room self-selection process ends on August 1. After this date, our office will randomly assign you a room if you have not selected a space.<\/li>\n<li>All first-year students are required to have a meal plan. If you do not select a plan, we will assign one to you before the contract begins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Returning Student Housing Application<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/esession\/authentication.do?campusId=070&amp;postAuthUrl=http%3A%2F%2Feservices.minnstate.edu%2Fstudent-portal%2Fsecure%2Fdashboard.do%3Fcampusid%3D070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">e-Services<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Click on Housing and Dining.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Select the appropriate Housing Application from the top menu.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete the Housing Application.
